Alice Louise Groat, 78, a longtime resident of Mount Prospect, passed away February 27, 2016 at Northwest Community Hospital. Alice was the beloved wife of the late Bruce Groat, loving mother of Cheryl (David) Pena, Karyn (Keith) Kraske and Kevin Groat. The proudest grandmother of Ryan, Alex, Kayla, Nolan, Olivia, Davi and Cassi. Cherished sister of Bill (Sarah) Unzicker, Jim (Mary) Unzicker, Barbara (Jerry) Eaton. Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Alice is preceded in death by her parents; husband Bruce; sisters, Rhoda Boezman, Betty Kingma and Luann Shager. Alice loved her family more than anything and always put them first.
Alice’s favorite things in life included her family, friends, singing church hymns and Indiana Basketball.
The visitation will be held Saturday March 5 from 9-11:00am with a Celebration of Life service following at First Presbyterian Church, 302 N. Dunton Ave., Arlington Heights, IL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
